CCTV Policy Summary
Why we use CCTV?
CCTV is installed at the Ulverstone Surf Life Saving Club to help protect people, buildings, and equipment. It acts as a deterrent and helps investigate incidents like damage, theft, or safety concerns.
What CCTV is not used for?
CCTV is not used to monitor members, patrol behaviour, or supervise day‑to‑day activities. The system does not have audio capabilities.
Where cameras are located?
Cameras cover external and shared areas only. There are no cameras in change rooms, toilets, or showers.
Who can see the footage?
Footage is only viewed by authorised Club officers when required for security or incident investigation.
Can members or the public get CCTV footage?
No. The Club does not provide CCTV footage to members or the public. Footage may only be released to Tasmania Police following a criminal complaint and a formal request.
How long footage is kept?
Footage is normally kept for 14-28 days (depending on system storage limitations) and then automatically deleted.
