2026 Life Member - Julian Moore

USLSC is pleased to announce that in accordance with s11.2 of the Constitution, Julian Moore was conferred to the status of Life Member at the 2026 AGM.
Julian has dedicated more than three decades of outstanding voluntary service to surf lifesaving since gaining his Bronze Medallion in 1995. Throughout this time, he has demonstrated exceptional commitment to aquatic safety, emergency response, member development, leadership, and club administration.
Julian's contribution extends across operational, rescue, training, coaching, and governance roles. He has served his club and community as Club President, Boat Captain, Boat Sweep and Coach, Patrol Captain, IRB Driver and Crew member, and as a qualified Swift Water and Flood Rescue operator with Surf Life Saving Tasmania. His willingness to undertake diverse and demanding responsibilities reflects a lifelong commitment to protecting the community and strengthening the surf lifesaving movement.
As a patrol member and Patrol Captain, Julian has played a vital role in maintaining safe beach environments and mentoring generations of lifesavers. His experience as an IRB Driver and Crew member has contributed significantly to rescue capability and operational readiness. Through his work as Boat Captain, Sweep, and Coach, he has developed athletes and lifesavers while fostering teamwork, discipline, and excellence within the club.
Julian's leadership reached its highest level through his service as Club President, where he provided strategic direction, encouraged volunteer participation, and helped ensure the continued growth and sustainability of the club. His leadership style has consistently been characterised by integrity, reliability, and a genuine commitment to the welfare of members and the broader community.
In addition to surf rescue operations, Julian has expanded his service through Swift Water and Flood Rescue, contributing specialist emergency response capabilities that extend beyond the beach environment. This commitment demonstrates his dedication to community safety in all conditions and circumstances.
For more than 30 years, Julian Moore has embodied the values of Surf Life Saving through selfless service, leadership, professionalism, and mentorship. His contribution has positively influenced countless members and has strengthened both his club and the wider surf lifesaving community.
His willingness to lead by example and undertake whatever role is required has earned the respect of members across multiple generations.
The longevity, diversity, and impact of Julian's service make him highly deserving of recognition. His contribution reflects the very best traditions of volunteer surf lifesaving and has played a significant role in maintaining the strength, capability, and community focus of the Ulverstone Surf Life Saving Club.
