USLSC Member Spotlight - Olya

𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐔𝐒𝐋𝐒𝐂⁣

This is my 5th year⁣

𝐁𝐢𝐨⁣

I started with the USLSC in under 11’s. I have managed to win quite a few medals at the State Championships, mainly in beach events because they’re my favourite. This year I made the Tasmanian Team for the Youth Pathways Interstate Championships which were held on the Gold Coast. I also competed at the Aussies and came 16th out of 84 in flags which I was super happy about! ⁣

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥?⁣

I started patrol at the end of last year. I really enjoyed it and liked spending time with people in the club that I don’t often get a chance to see. My favourite thing is going out in the IRB and the BBQ!⁣

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭?⁣

Sprints and flags - they’re short and sharp and lots of fun!⁣

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐟 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠?⁣

I love being at the beach and meeting people from all around the state. I’ve made some really good friends and we all have lots in common. I also like helping to support my community.⁣

𝐃𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭- 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠-𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦 𝐠𝐨𝐚𝐥𝐬?⁣

I would like to keep doing what I’m doing, especially competing!⁣

Don’t be afraid to get in and have a good go. Don’t be scared because there are always people there to help you and remember to have lots of fun!⁣

I’ve been doing circus since I was 6. I like tumbling, the trapeze and the silks.⁣
