Tas Ocean Challenge - 26 January 2018 @ USLSC

A 2 kilometre public ocean swim is being organised to be held in conjunction with Australia Day at the Beach, hosted by the Ulverstone Surf Club on ...Friday, January 26.

The patrolled swim will start in front of the surf club about 2.30 p.m. to a buoy 300 metres offshore and then west to the Ulverstone river mouth, finishing at the Leven Yacht Club next to Pedro's Seafood Restaurant. This will be a tide-assisted swim, so expect times to be fast and the swim to be relatively easy.
All times will be recorded and there will be presentations and random draws to age-groupers at the surf club.

A 500 metre public swim off the surf club will be held in conjunction with the event, along with shorter age-group races for 10-14 year-olds. Prizes and random draws will also be held for these swims.
At this stage, the swims will be sponsored by local business houses and we are looking for sponsors for each age group. The sponsors will be invited to make these presentations themselves.
Cathy Woodhouse is also heading a team to organise open and junior Ironman challenges on the day.

The Surf 2 Sail is an exciting concept which could become a regular Coastal fixture so we hope everyone embraces the event and spreads the word.
The bar will be open & comfort food & drinks available after the race.
