CHRISTMAS DAY PATROL:

A special thanks to the very generous members who gave up their time to assist the club with patrol duties on Christmas Day. It is a really big ask to give up precious time on this special Public Holiday and we are indebted to Lizzi Shires, Annika Barry, Kyani-Lily Pearson, Mick and Alison Purton and the Chapman family. Thank you all very much, as well as Graeme Rollins who volunteered, but was subsequently not required.

IRB TRAINING:

Everyone interested in completing the upcoming IRB training at the club, being run by Matt Potter and Simon Eustace, should be aware that there is a pre-requisite to attaining the competency. All trainees must attend Service Tasmania and obtain a MAST Boat Licence before commencing the IRB course.

NEW IRB:

The new club IRB obtained via the Tasmanian Community Fund grant scheme is expected to arrive mid January. The craft is something new for USLSC, being a rigid hull design from Midcoast inflatables in NSW. It is expected to be both very stable and manoeuvrable and is only 5kg heavier than our existing craft. Photos will be uploaded on arrival.

PATROL LOG SHEETS

The Club has decided to seek the support of our regional SLST Support Officers in inputting weekly rostered patrol and official water safety hours into the national SurfGuard system. As such, we would ask the Patrol Captain on every Sunday patrol to remove all original sheets from the Patrol Log at the end of the day, place them in the pre-stamped and addressed envelopes at the back of the Patrol Log Book and post them off.
