2011 - 2012 Tasmanian Surf Sports Calendar  (Simplified Word Summary)    

Congratulations to everyone on their efforts at the recent State Championships at Clifton. The weather was fabulous and great results, both individually and in teams, were highlights of the weekend. We didn’t win the overall points score but I know we can be justly proud of our performance as a club.

One of the many events that gave me great pride which does deserve a mention was our victory in the Lifesaver Relay. Our team of Boaties (A boaties + Renee Sushames), Hamish Chapman, Yonah Duniam, Jordan Lynd and Ryan Lynd gave us what I believe is our first ever victory in this event.

Thanks must go to our club’s team of dedicated senior coaches in Charlene Best, Dave Chapman and Tim Horniblow for their numerous hours ‘on the beach’ doing what I know they all enjoy. Also thanks to our officials at the states, Danny Redman, Graeme Rollins, Graham Barry, Shane Lynd and Nigel Donnelly and to Ann Eustace, Kerry Lynch and others that officated at other carnivals and events throughout the season. Dave Chapman had the unenviable task of towing the gear trailer. Thanks Dave.
