Junior Lifesavers (ages 7 – 13 years) - Nippers
You don’t have to be 6 foot tall. If you love going to the beach, why not become a Junior surf lifesaver?
You’ll have even more fun and and you’ll meet new friends and learn skills that will start you on your way to a lifetime of development, mateship and fun. You’ll learn about surf safety, board paddling, basic first aid and basic rescue techniques.
You’ll also enjoy plenty of great beach activities and the chance to compete in inter-club competitions with your mates. |

Junior Lifesavers (ages 13 – 18 years)
You can join Surf Life Saving as a Junior lifesaver, and have a great time mixing with teenagers of your own age. You’ll have lots of fun while you learn valuable skills that will start you on your way to an exciting career, whether it be in emergency services, defence force or community service. In fact, Surf Life Saving skills and qualifications are well respected by many employers.
You begin by gaining your Surf Rescue Certificate at age 13, as well as participating in personal development programs. This enables you to work as a member of a team of lifesavers on the beach. As well as being able to spend time on the beach, you will have the opportunity to meet and make new friends that will stay with you for life.
At age 15 you can take the next step by gaining your Bronze medallion and be involved in all areas of Surf Lifesaving, including patrol dutiesYou can also advance to to gain other skills such as advanced resuscitation, First Aid and operating the inflatable rescue boats, IRBs. You may eventually become a Patrol captain. |

Active Seniors - (Open)
You can come up through the junior ranks to become an active surf lifesaver, or you can join as an adult aged 18 or over. Either way, we will accommodate you. Once you have contacted your local Surf Life Saving Club, we will put you through your Bronze Medallion, which enables you to become a patrollingmember on the beach.
Surf Life Saving provides you with a backbone of skills
and knowledge that will help you in everyday life. Not only are you part of Australia’s largest volunteer family, but you are making friends and learning skills that will be with you for the rest of your life. You can make a difference to the lives of others, as well as your own.

USLSC FEE STRUCTURE 2009/2010
Membership Fees to include insurance, equipment usage, capitation levy, requalification fees, gym usage (16 & over or Bronze Holders), Nipper competition fees, award fees, equipment replacement and maintenance levy.
- Family (2 adults and all school aged children) $275
- Active and Active Reserve: $115
- Patrolling Member Only $65
- Youth/Junior (under 8 to under 19) $95
- Associate (includes gym usage) $65
- Social, (includes Pool Usage) $30
- Sunday Water Awareness Program $70
- A discount of 10% is available if payment is made before 31/7/09.
- All payments must accompany a filled in/signed membership form
- Due to insurance requirements members cannot use equipment unless they are financial members of the club. The financial year commences after the fee structure has been set by the Annual General Meeting. Competitors using equipment have a two-week grace period after the AGM to become financial.
- New members will be granted a 2-week trial period after completing a membership form before fees are due and payable.
- A separate competition fee for seniors has been set at $40 for the season in advance or $10 per carnival. This includes State Titles but not Marathons. The pre-payment is due before the first statewide competition carnival as per the SLST Competition calendar.
- Any person assisting with water safety, training or coaching needs to be a financial member to be covered by insurance.
- Club at its discretion, has the right to refuse any application for membership if it is deemed not to be in the best interests of the Club.
- Any hardship or special circumstances applications in regard to membership should be lodged with the Treasurer/Secretary.
